About the project
Academy of Patient Organizations (APO) is an educational project designed for the Czech Patient Organizations, for which it strives to find the solutions of their main problems and to help to defend their rights. The project was launched in 2012 and behind his birth stands Association of Innovative Pharmaceutical Industry (AIFP). During its existence number of patient organizations have joined the APO and today are counted at 90.
GOALS OF APO
- To promote the independence of Czech Patient Organizations
- Foster their long-term development
- Teaching the Patient organizations how to effectively get funding from Czech and European sources
- To improve the quality of their presentation and negotiating skills
The project has run for 6 years and has prepared for over 100 all-day educational seminars on topics like: project management, strategic and financial management, leadership, effective decision-making, fundraising, communication, social media and planning of online campaigns, personal data protection, legislation and ethical principles, use of National and also European subsidies, Accounting and NGO Taxes, PR and others. HOW TO APPLY?
If you are interested in participating APO, every Czech patient organization can contact the project manager in written form: Zuzana Komárková.
HOW IS THE PROJECT FINANCED?
The participation of Patient Organizations in the Academy is free of charge. The operation costs are fully covered by the Association of Innovative Pharmaceutical Industry (AIFP). In 2012 and 2013 it was also supported by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA).
